My name is Rachel Dumas and I am the 2008 OWIT-DFW President. I have been a member of this organization for over seven years and on the board for six of those years. I sincerely hope that you will become an active participant in our organization and make it the thriving network of international trade professionals it should be! As a nonprofit professional organization, OWIT-DFW promotes women and men doing business in the international trade community by providing networking and educational opportunities.

We have a vibrant group of members and board members that can expand your business contacts as well as grow your knowledge level on international trade issues. I strongly encourage you to join this international organization and get involved!

The difference between our group and other groups is we not only have freight forwarders, and brokers but we also have importers and exporters, students and those looking to become a part of ‘the trade’. We also have local meetings regularly which allow you to network with other local companies. Our national group allows for you to visit with chapters in other cities if you travel as well as attend our national meetings. Even though the name stands for the Organization of Women in International Trade, we obviously encourage men to participate and join. We even have a man on our board of directors again this year. This is a group for everyone in the trade and we encourage you to take advantage and become active in our local group.

I am excited about 2008 and the opportunity to serve as your President for the coming year and wholeheartedly wish to see you at every event you can possibly attend! We are passionate about international trade and wish to serve your educational and networking needs!
